The reason for Friday’s early departure by the Chinese trade delegation was, according to Treasury Secretary Mnuchin, a timing issue. It was a postponement requested by the US government.
It was not, as I had speculated, a desire on the part of the delegation to get back to China in a more timely fashion and it was not a sign of some snag being hit in the negotiations that seems to be implied by the headline below:
“Dow falls for second day, drops more than 100 points after China officials cut US visit short”
Bottom line is the same: still not much to see here despite the headline above.
Again, the media is not your friend.
